French Press Brewing

If you’re looking for a new way to make coffee, consider the French Press. The French Press is an easy and affordable way to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee every time. Plus, it doesn’t require any fancy equipment or skills.

In fact, all you need is freshly ground coffee, hot water, and a few minutes of your time! Here’s how you can make coffee using a French Press in 4 simple steps.

Step 1: Preparing Your French Press

Start by thoroughly cleaning your French Press with warm, soapy water and then rinse it until all the soap residue is gone. Then add 2 tablespoons of freshly ground coffee beans into the bottom of the press for each cup of coffee you plan on making (a standard cup size is 8 ounces). The ratio ends up being 1:12 coffee-to-water ratio. You may add or reduce the water if you want the coffee to be stronger or lighter.

Step 2: Pouring Water over the Grounds

When your beans are ready, and your press is clean, fill your kettle with filtered water and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, turn off the heat and let it sit for 30 seconds before slowly pouring the hot water into your French Press over the grounds. Make sure that all of the grounds are completely soaked in order to get maximum flavor from them. Fill the press up until there’s about one inch left at the top.

Step 3: Steeping and Stirring

Once all of the grounds have been saturated with hot water, place the lid onto your French Press (make sure not to push down just yet!) and let it steep for four minutes before giving it a gentle stir with a spoon or spatula. This step helps ensure that all of the grounds are evenly extracted during brewing in order to give you an even-tasting cup of joe!

Step 4: Pushing Down & Serving

After steeping and stirring, firmly push down on the plunger as far as possible until it reaches an almost vertical position at the bottom of your press. This process forces all of those wonderful flavors out from under the lid while also filtering out any remaining grinds that could affect taste or texture when drinking later on. Finally, pour yourself a cup or two (or three!) and enjoy!

The Bottom Line:

Making coffee with a French Press is easier than you might think—all you need is some freshly ground beans, some hot water, and 4 simple steps outlined above!

Plus, this method will help you save money in comparison to buying pre-ground coffee from stores; plus, no one else in town will have quite as fresh-tasting brew as yours! So next time you want an easy but delicious cup of java - why not make yourself an authentic cup using a french press? You won't regret it!
